I love blogging because… Since started blogging and photographing for the blog, I started to pay more attention and  appreciate little things that might be so trivial. From glorious blue sky, sparkling river to fresh blossoms on the roadside, I’m finding loads of blogging inspirations to create some happy snaps!

Five words to describe myself… Typical Gemini, optimistic, romanticist, introvert and a thinker.

If I was born 100 years ago I would be… A Geisha in Kyoto, or a Burlesque dancer in Paris.

My fashion style is… Expressive, changeable, vintage, feminine, romantic, glamorous, vibrant and colourful.

Most collected fashion items… Shoes! I have a six-storey shoe rack in my garage and the collection is ever grow. Beautiful shoes are forms of arts and should be framed as art pieces! I’m also obsessed with beautiful earrings, I started drawing portraits of myself in big earrings (think 80s style!) when I was in kindergarten.

Five pair of pretty yet comfy shoes for five cities… Gothenburg ultra-chic rainboots for London, Arielle de Pinto strap platform sandals for Rio, Mel jelly flats for Hong Kong, UGG sheepskin boots for Sapporo snowfields, and Lotta From Stockholm wooden clogs for Kyoto.

Most treasured item in my wardrobe… A white Shanghai Tang Chinese qi pao dress with lace sleeves, lace trimmed hem and high front slit.

Things that should never be considered as fashionable… Crocs and Birkenstock should only belong to the restaurants kitchen while Juicy Couture tracksuits and platform flip flops should be banned on flights…

On my wedding day I wore… A Victorian style wedding dress with French lace sleeves, high collar, corset back and ruffled cathedral train (hence the blog name Lace n Ruffles!).

Favourite shopping destinations… Barcelona, Tokyo, Kyoto and Hong Kong.

Hottest gourmet travel destinations… Hobart in Tasmania, Kyoto and Paris.

Most played songs on Spotify… One Note Samba by João Gilberto, When It’s Sleepytime Down South by Wynton Marsalis,  The Girl From Ipanema by Stan Getz, J’ai Deux Amours by Madeleine Peyroux and La Vie En Rose by Louise Armstrong.

I smile when I… See glorious sunset, cuddle a fluffy British Shorthair, wear a pair of Louboutin stilettos, drape in lace and ruffles, taste Ladurée macarons, smell freshly blossomed peonies, wake up to an exotic travel destination, listen to mellow jazz tunes and meet people with great sense of humor.

Still can’t get enough of me? Check out my profile here: She Goes – Juliet Siu, LacenRuffles

P.S. Love my profile picture? I’m truly in love! It’s taken by my amazingly talented photographer friend Daniel from Daniel Groneberg – Photographer, drop by his Facebook page or his blog and you’ll be blown away by his magical world of photo imaging…

Lovely blog, juliet! I love your style! So glad you stopped by my blog too. Queensland is one stop in Australia that I didn’t get a chance to visit (I’ve been to Sydney & Fremantle about a decade ago). Maybe one day (sigh)…

    Hi Juliet,
Thanks for stopping by. I’m glad you liked my post on New Orleans.
I love your sense of fashion! I only wish I could wear such beautiful things. I’m much more a shorts, t-shirts and flip-flops type girl. 😉

Hello Jill, so glad that you stopped by and left a note! Im travelling to the US this coming Christmas and New Orleans is surely on my list, the lively jazz scene is calling me I think! Do you have any tips to share on the local jazz scene? Btw I love my tshirts and flip flops days occasionally too, why not as long as you feel like wearing them 🙂

Very much so! Can’t rave enough about the freshest local produce on the Apple Isle! A couple of fine dinning places I visited in Hobart all serve local ingredients to give you the ‘paddock to plate’ tastes. I totally felt I was dinning in a veggie garden with the crispiest, sweetest tasting salad I’ve ever had! If you’re heading that way drop me a line and I can give you a few of my personal favorite places to dine at. 🙂
