Papaya Banana Smoothie Bowl Recipe [Raw & Vegan] + Giveaway

Papaya Banana Smoothie Bowl recipe raw & vegan feat

Why hello sunshine! What makes you wake up happy and jump out of bed with excitement?

For me, they’re things like embarking on a road trip, hopping on a plane to an unfamiliar destination and, of course, dipping my toes in the sands and the sea! But for the rest of the days when I carry out my daily routine and am home-bound to work on my projects (i.e. most weekdays), I need to create certain kind of thrill that motivates me to hop out of bed saying ‘I think I can’t wait for the day to start!‘.

Do you feel the same?

So I’ve begun this #StartYourDayRight journey here, on my Facebook and Instagram. It’s all about sharing bits and pieces of blissful moments to kick off my day bursting with healthy, happy and positive vibes. I’m pretty sure there’d be some kind of research proving that colourful breakfast bowls boost production of our happy hormones (point me to the articles if you’ve seen it!). I swear it does the magic for me. I love bringing to work my mason jars that are filled with layers of fruity bits, oats, cacao, acai, coconuts.. oh, the list is simply endless! Seriousy, preparing tastebud-enticing breakfast doesn’t involve much sweating at all. I spend 3 to 4 minutes at most in the evenings to make my breakfast jars. Otherwsie, I’ll fall into the trap of grabbing a greasy bacon and egg roll – we all know how easy it is to go down that path!

I’m sure lots of you are still working hard to achieve your wellness goals for the new year (yep I’m looking at YOU), so I thought I’d share one of my favourite wholesome breakfast recipes today. Ta-dah – meet my darling papaya banana smoothie bowl! I promise it’s easy as peas to prepare so come along! 🙂

Papaya Banana Smoothie Bowl Recipe raw & vegan Lace n Ruffles

smoothiesbowls (6 of 12)

♣ You’ll need ♣

Raw coconut milk x 200 ml

Organic yoghurt x 4 tablespoon

Banana x 3

Papaya (half)

Natural almond spread x 1 tablespoon

Raw cacao powder x 2 tablespoon

Raw cacao nibs x 2 tablespoon (Note: there’s a giveaway on the bottom of the post!)

Raw almond flakes (optional)

Natural rolled oats (optional)

 ♣ Here’s how-to ♣

1. Chop your bananas and papaya into medium sized pieces and throw them into your blender/ smoothies maker. I leave one-third aside to use as toppings later on.

2. Add coconut milk, spoons of yoghurt, almond spread and cacao powder into the blender with your fruits.

3. Blend for 2 to 3 minutes until it turns smooth. Pour the smoothies into a glass bowl when done.

4. Time to add your favourite toppings! I use raw cacao nibs, almond flakes and rolled oats.

5. Finally, sprinkle with the remaining fruit pieces on top and viola – bon appetite!

I’m very keen on buckinis, on their own with fruit and almond milk or to add something different to boring (but healthy) cereals like Weetbix. I’ve even used chocolate buckinis in baking on top of banana bread and muffins for crunch and flavour, much more nutritious than chocolate chips!

Egg & bacon cups are easy to transport when I need to eat on the go. Super easy to make, using a cupcake tray, sliced bacon to line the sides and an egg cracked and sprinkled with rock salt and pepper. A great protein filled breakfast that keeps me feeling full and energetic.

You motivate to start my day right by actually eating breakfast. I am a busy person and I tend to forget about myself as I put my family first. So I use to not eat breakfast because I never had the time and I didn’t want anything heavy like a sandwich. But your recipes sound so good and are so quick to make, that I have finally started making breakfast in the mornings again! I love making breakfast while talking to my family and listening to the radio because it always puts me in a good mood. Lately, I have been making a lot of smoothie bowls with frozen berries, avocado, spinach and frozen bananas topped with cacao nibs, coconut and granola. It is soooo useful because I can just chuck everything in the blender when I wake up and leave it on while I get ready.

I make my own toasted muesli to save $$ and to be able to control the sugar content that goes into it! I throw in whatever I can find in the pantry – shredded coconut, oats, chia seeds, flax seeds, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds and coconut oil and maple syrup or honey for a touch of sweetness. SO GOOD with creamy natural yoghurt! Mmm, I think I’ll have a bowl for dessert!
