My Top 10 Instagram #FoodieTravel Post of 2015

My Top 10 Instagram #FoodieTravel Post of 2015

What could be a better way to end the year in a delectably sweet note than wrapping up my top #FoodieTravel moments of 2015? I surely can’t think of any! So be prepared to drool as I present you with my 10 most appetising moments of 2015 from London to downunder through my Instagram filters:

#10 Brussels

A photo posted by Juliet S (@julietsjuju) on May 15, 2015 at 4:06am PDT

#WhenInBrussels, stuffing your face in Belgium chocolates is totally not a crime. These little choco blocks on sticks melt to make devilishly smooth cups of drinking hot chocolates! But trust me no one will judge if you eat them as they are like popsicles.

#9 Canungra, Gold Coast Hinterland

A photo posted by Juliet S (@julietsjuju) on Sep 9, 2015 at 6:51pm PDT

Picnic date with my love, glass of O’Reillys Lona Blush sparkling semillon in hands, cheese platter and sitting by the creek where platypus & turtles hang – life ain’t bad at all up in countrytown Canungra.👌🍷 Felt utterly pampered with this gourmet picnic basket prepared by the friendly site manager at O’Relly’s Canungra Vineyard (check out my full itinerary here)!

#8 Taipei, Taiwan

A photo posted by Juliet S (@julietsjuju) on May 21, 2015 at 8:25pm PDT

Ate up a storm when in Taiwan because calories don’t count when travelling, am I right? Sticky rice puddings prepared by the local chef for breakfast was what I was looking forward to jumping out of bed every morning.

#7 Surfers Paradise, Gold Coast

A photo posted by Juliet S (@julietsjuju) on Dec 14, 2015 at 7:52pm PST

This is how to handle a 32° C day on the Gold Coast. 😎👌🍨🌞 And did someone just say ‘buy one get one free gelato’? Yep – this shopping queen has scouted this buy one get one free voucher for Gelatossimo Surfers Paradise from Shop A Docket coupon site! One for yourself, one for the love of your life (or two scoops for yourself if ice cream is one thing in life that you never share).

#6 Southwark, London

A photo posted by Juliet S (@julietsjuju) on Apr 8, 2015 at 6:42am PDT

Woke up to a berry good morning on my first day in London! ♡ I spent two delightful mornings at this foodie’s heaven Borough Market. This place is massive and choices of freshly baked pies, pastries and paella set my heart racing! But first, starting my day off right with a freshly squeezed cleansing juice is a must.

#5 Kowloon, Hong Kong

A photo posted by Juliet S (@julietsjuju) on Mar 30, 2015 at 1:54am PDT

Hong Kong never fails to get my sweet tooth aching. ♡ These coconut cream puddings are served in a half coconut bowl that make them too dainty to eat. What a delightful sight it is just staring at the display!

#4 Taipa, Macau

A photo posted by Juliet S (@julietsjuju) on Oct 24, 2015 at 11:15pm PDT

The mecca for pastry lovers, Lord Stow’s Cafe in Macau has surely nailed their secret recipe for the most mouth-watering Portguese tarts ever! Flakey, buttery with heavenly scent of custard, these tarts are best devoured when they serve them sizzling hot straight out from the oven. I could easily destruct a box of four of these little tasty things… shh.

#3 Hong Kong Island

A photo posted by Juliet S (@julietsjuju) on Nov 2, 2015 at 2:45pm PST

Hence I said Cantonese dim sim crafting is a jaw-droppingly delicate form of edible art! 😍 👌🌹 These rose shaped steamed buns filled with moist red beans paste are made for display in a mirrored jewelry box! You can find them at Social Place on Queen’s Road Central in Hong Kong. We won’t regret every bite of it I guarantee.

#2 Montmarte, Paris

A photo posted by Juliet S (@julietsjuju) on Apr 25, 2015 at 11:56pm PDT

Every day is a rainbow meringue kind of day when you’re in Paris! Seriously, who could resist these melt-in-your-mouth little sugar bombs? My full (tasty) Paris travel diary is up on this previous post!

#1 Kensington, London

A photo posted by Juliet S (@julietsjuju) on Apr 17, 2015 at 5:40am PDT

And the crème de la crème of my foodie travel moments of 2015? In true #LacenRuffles style, it has to be a classy affair. Ta-had – I think I’ve found my happy place at The Milestone Hotel London! ♡ Champagne high tea experience at the charismatic heritage hotel in Kensington was the finest I’ve ever had! Fresh scones, handcrafted desserts and dainty finger sandwiches were all exquisite, and service was hands down immaculate. If you’re after a quintessentially British high tea experience that’s fit for the royals, this is where to hang (I’ve posted my full review here in this previous post).

So tell me fellow foodie wanderer, what sort of tasty adventurers did you get up to in 2015? Did you go outside your comfort zone and try the exotic flavours, or did you stick to your all time favourites foodie places when you were on the road? Now, it’s your turn to share your tastiest #FoodieTravel moments with us! I’d love to see how your conquered the planet a bite at a time, so be sure to tag me in your photos with #LacenRufflesLife to brag and share!

Until next time. Stay adventurous.

Milestone is surely the place to be to feel like a royal 🙂 Make sure you visit with an empty stomach – the food was more than enough for two of us but we were grateful that they gave us a takeaway box to take home. Tag me and let me know how you like it if you happen to visit! I’d be keen to find out what’s your fave high tea places are in London. x

Nice post! Great idea as well! You would be bored if I were to tag you because I’m a veggie and travelling with a veggie diet isn’t at all easy I would say. But nothing can stop me from being a wanderer. Just discovered you and will continue reading your content. Happy New Year!
