♥ Derma Roller (0.33 mm)
What is it?
It is a professional grade skin needling tool, perfect for at-home skin maintenance between salon visits. With regular use, this Derma Roller can help improve the quality and radiance of your skin.
How to use:
Use alcohol to disinfect the derma roller. Roll the derma roller backwards and forwards 4 to 5 times in each direction, maintaining consistent speed and pressure. Finish with the roller in a diagonal upwards direction, to the outside of the face. Apply pressure in the upwards direction only (there are clear pictorial diagrams on the Derma Roller packaging. Apply your Renewal Serum after rolling.
Stimulates collagen growth to help significantly improve the appearances of scars, fine lines, wrinkles, stretch marks and acne scars.
Allowing for superior absorption of creams, gels, oils, dramatically boosting their transdermal application and effectiveness. This is relevant to all uses, including hair loss treatments as well as cellulite reduction.
Do not share your Derma Roller with another person.
Replace your roller after approximately 3 to 4 months of use.
Always clean roller with alcohol (70%), allow to air dry then store safely.
Do not over treat any area.
Do not use on broken or aggravated skin.
When I used the Derma Roller for the first time, it felt a bit of a prick and sting (as it is micro-needles after all) but is certainly tolerable. However, after subsequent use, my skin quickly caught up and adapted to the sensation. It’s normal to develop redness on the areas that you’re rolling on (for me, it was my cheeks). You will realise it’s worth all the hassle when you see how nicely the serum gets absorbed into the skin thereafter, with zero skin irritation! The morning after, my skin was looking supple and dewy! After about a week and a half, I am beginning to see tangible results with firmer looking skin. On days that I use the Derma Roller, I usually don’t apply any makeup so as to give my skin a ‘break’ and let it regenerate. It’s recommended to use your Derma Roller once or twice a week on the skin area that requires attention. Remember that diligence is key and have fun rolling your wrinkles and fine lines away!
♥ Renewal System
How to use:
Apply 1-2 pumps to cleansed skin at night. Allow lotion to absorb prior to applying any other products. Ideal for all skin types including sensitive skin.
- Retinol – Essential to skin health, broad anti-agin benefits.
- Vitamin C – Non-irritating and skin whitening, helps to increase collagen production.
- Gotu Kola – Skin healing anti-oxidant.
- Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) – Anti-ageing, lightening, improves skin elasticity and increases cellular energy, therefore improving repair of DNA.
Tip: Retinol is best introduced slowly to your skincare routine. For those unaccustomed to retinol, this product should be used only every 2nd to 3rd night, until tolerated and then may be increased to daily use. If redness or peeling become apparent, leave skin until clear and then commence again slowly.
The renewal serum is extremely soothing to my skin, especially applying after a shower. It’s of a watery cream based texture which feels really light when applied. It gets absorbed into the skin really quickly and is not sticky at all. It’d be more effective if you take time to massage it in and lightly pat it when you’re done. A single pump is good enough to cover my entire face sufficiently. After this, you can then apply your night moisturiser and get ready for bed!
♥ Gentle Cleanser
- Green Tea – Anti-inflammatory anti-oxidant
- Gotu Kola – Skin healing anti-oxidant
- WIllowbark – Natural astringent to help calm and address inflammation
- Sandalwood Oil – Antibacterial and cooling anti-inflammatory
- Papain – Gentle, antibacterial exfoliant
How to use:
Apply 1-2 pumps to wet hands and massage lightly over face and neck. Rinse well and repeat if desired or necessary to remove makeup. (Always cleanse twice to effectively remove your makeup
Tip: Take your time to go through the cleansing ritual, it’s the most important step if you want your post-cleansing products to be well absorbed by your skin. A well-cleansed skin is the key for happy, healthy-looking skin!
Ideal for most skin types including sensitive skin (which is what I have – tested & proven!)
The cleanser comes in a light translucent tea colour, you might even catch a whiff of slight mandarin oranges (or so I’d like to think!). As all AWE products are 100% natural occurring fragrances, don’t expect it to smell heavenly – but it’s great to know that your skin is getting treated with only the best natural ingredients that are toxin-free. I usually do two pumps per cleanse and gently massage my face, as my skin is of a drier nature. I would know at once if the cleanser is ‘stripping’ off the natural moisture of my skin (judging from previous experiences with harsh cleansers) because my cheeks would feel really tight and uncomfortable – I’m sure those with dry skin can relate to this too! However, this cleanser performs at its maximum capacity for my skin, I even feel a layer of silky touch after cleansing, leaving a sense of freshness!
And here’s the makeup remover test.
I decided to test how effective it can actually remove makeup. I usually have a full face of make up when I go out and I find it the most dreading having to come home and remove my makeup after a long & tiring day (who don’t?). I’m constantly on a mission to find the quickest way to remove my makeup fast but at the same time, effectively. Prior to being introduced to the Awe Gentle Cleanser, I use makeup remover wipes that I buy from the pharmacies. This time, I decide to try both ways of makeup remover with half of my face. With the wipes, though it was able to remove my makeup rather effectively, it wasn’t able to remove the clumps of my waterproof mascara at all. I had to use another oil based makeup remover to take off my mascara. However, with the Gentle Cleanser, massaging it gently along my lash line where my mascara is I had it all falling off within a good minute or two! Isn’t that wonderful news, ladies?
