Let’s face it. We want to look as healthy as possible with a radiant glow on our face, and one of the first thing to ensure we feel this way is by taking care of our skin. After all, it is the canvas that protects the artwork called our body.
The one thing I always do before applying any skincare product is – drum rolls please – research. I recently posted my first ‘Non-toxic skincare guide‘ and am so proud of it! And just the other day, I found this cool app called Future Face created by Skin Clinic. The smart app analyses the types of skincare products you can use dependent on your lifestyle. As a city girl, Future Face states that because of the rise in temperature and exposure to UV rays, I need to use foundation and creams with a sufficient SPF and consume foods rich in anti-oxidants to amplify the SPF benefits by up to four times. Pretty bright stuff, huh?
So my lovelies, let’s forget about the expensive treatments or that tub of fancy moisturiser that are caviar-filled. If you’re on the hunt for some simple ways to keep the skin you’re in today in the most natural way, follow these tips!

That’s right – I’m talking about Mother Nature. Aren’t we lucky to have her on our side when it comes to finding organic treatments for nearly everything? You might see those toxic chemicals laden products work for you temporarily, but in the long run, think about how much nasty substances have sneaked their way through your blood stream to your body – yuk! As I’m always on the go and globe-trotting, it’s sometimes way too hard to stick to a strict healthy eating plan. Although I have the occasional cheat meal once in a blue moon, I know these fatty foods will do nothing to keep my skin looking healthy. For the City Slickers, Gym Fanatics and for those who are generally on the go, I recommend munching on delicious foods rich in anti-oxidants in between meals. Foods such as raspberries, strawberries, dried red beans and nuts are just some of the treats rich in anti-oxidants and are totally snackable on the go. Handy tip: Look for foods rich in vitamins A and C as well since they assist in skin repair and counteracts oxidation and cellular damage – processes which contribute to aging and disease. Don’t forget to also pack a bit of raw chocolate – the perfect treat after a workout session! Raw cacao promotes healthy skin, strengthens the heart and simply brightens any day. You have probably heard your parents say this time and time again: put some sunscreen on before you go outside!
