♥ Natural Instinct
Products tested: Foaming Cleanser, Cream Cleanser, Clarifying Toner, Daily Moisturiser and Facial Scrub
Why is it green? Formulated with plant-derived ingredients, certified organic extracts and pure essential oils. No petrochemicals, parabens & PEGs, perservatives & mineral oils. Exclude a list of 40+ potential harmful chemicals in their products (full list here). Not tested on animals and grey-water safe.
My verdict: Both cleaners cleanse very well without being harsh on skin. My pick is the cream one as my skin still feels a bit dry after winter and its creamy texture makes my skin feels hydrated right after cleansing. Toner is enriched with rosewater, witch hazel and orange flower extracts to give a beautiful spring garden scent. Daily moisturiser with jojoba and rosehip absorbs into the skin really well. I love the scent of jojoba oil so I’m sold on this one! The facial scrub is an absolute star in the range. It’s quite gentle and gives instant radiant skin – it goes into my staple as the go-to products after a big night out for skin SOS! Low price (RRP $9.95) and stocked in major pharmacies, their products are quite accessible and affordable for everyday use.
♥ Herbalife SKIN
Products tested: Soothing Aloe Cleanser, Purifying Mint Clay Mask, Daily Glow Moisturizer, Replenishing Night Cream and Line Minimizing Serum.
Why is it green? Free of parabens and sulfates.
My verdict: Skin’s feeling smooth and moisturised after continuous use for 7 days. My favourite has to be the night creme which feels nourishing without being too heavy on my skin. Their soothing cleanser washes off easily without leaving any residue. Also love the mint clay mask that delivers a noticeable result on my skin for minimising pores from just a single use. The only minus is ingredients used not being certified organic.
♥ Nudus Lipstick
Products tested: Lipsticks in Halo, Revenge, Dirty Dana and Previous shades (from top image to bottom).
Why is it green? Handcrafted lipsticks with certified organic ingredients. Pigmented with ancient ayurvedic bioactive colour extracts made from flowers, fruits, herbs and minerals with organic cold pressed oils including pumpkin, kiwi fruit, raspberry, pomegranate, argan and moringa. Cruelty free.
My verdict: They’re such delicious and colourful cocktails for your lips, literally! Feel completely carefree wearing them as the ingredients are tasteful and non-toxic for lips and bodies. Finally, no more lead-filled lip stains on my martini glass! Their colours are quite matte and vibrant for that old Hollywood glamourous look. It’s not a long-stay product but I was quite impressed with how the colours stay put after a few sips of cocktails. They aren’t the easiest to apply with its non-oily texture yet they feel nourishing and smooth on my lips once applied. LOVE love love these delectable babes to bits!
Products tested: Clarifying Facial Wash
Why is it green? Made with Australian Lilly Pilly extracts and several other natural essential oils. Contain SLS free foaming agent derived from coconut. No mineral oils, artificial colours & fragrances and petrochemicals. Not tested on animals and recyclable packaging.
My verdict: A cream based cleanser that leaves my skin very soft and supple. Love the slight glow it leaves on my skin evening before I apply toner. It doesn’t foam and the formula feels very gentle and hydrating. Blissful smell of essential oils blend is a plus! The packaging feels a bit excessive with the paper box but they do emphasize all packaging are recyclable.
♥ Angel Aromatics
Products tested: Angel Aromatic Annan Ivory Soap
Why is it green? Free from SLS, colorants, sulphates, parabens & PEGs and mineral oils. Contain vegetable based ingredients, sweet almond oil and cocoa butter. Not tested on animals.
My verdict: First thing I noticed was the incredible scent of cocoa butter that feels ultra nourishing! It gives a rich, thick and decadent lather that covers my entire body luxuriously – just add a glass of champagne for the ultimate pampering bath experience.
Products tested: Protein Wellness Shampoo and Protein Wellness Care Treatment.
Why is it green? Natural hair care range that is paraben free. Made from natural raw minerals, organic extracts and spring water enriched with ions from Laguna Fuente de Piedra in Spain.
My verdict: Their hair treatment injects some live and shine to my hair without weighing it down. That’s quite impress as I have very fine hair and over-moisturising tends to make my hair feel really heavy. Tick, tick, tick! Also love the non-sticky formula. Their shampoo boasts a honey-like sweet scent that makes bathing experience indulging. It lathers well and doesn’t over-dry my hair. I wash my hair every second day and I was able to get to the second day without a greasy look.
